When to visit Mexico: an honest, month-by-month guide

Caribbean vs Pacific, dry season vs rainy, and where you actually get the best weather and value each month.

Mexico is so big it's really two trips. The Pacific coast (Puerto Vallarta) and the Caribbean (Cancún, Playa, Isla) have different seasons.

December–April

Dry season everywhere. Best weather, highest prices, busiest beaches. Book early.

May–June

Hot, but still dry on the Caribbean. Pacific starts to humid up. Great value before the rainy season.

July–October

Rainy season. Short afternoon storms, lush landscapes, very low prices. September is hurricane peak — flexible plans recommended.

November

The sweet spot. Dry returns, prices haven't fully climbed yet, days are warm and nights are cool.
